Soviet architect and cartoonist, book designer, illustrator. He studied at the music college, and later at Vkhutemas, from which he graduated in 1926. Since 1926, he published drawings in the magazines Behemoth, Smekhach, Chudak, Pushka, in the 1930s in Krokodil, and also collaborated with the children's publications Chizh and Hedgehog. Participated in the International Exhibition of Caricature (1934) and the exhibition "Artists of the RSFSR for 15 years". Malakhovsky's works, including illustrations for "The Golden Key" by A. Tolstoy (first edition, 1936), "Spoiled Children" by M. Saltykov Shchedrin (1935) and "Songs of Pischik" by N. Aseev (1925, together with N. Snopkov), are kept in museum and private collections. Part of the creative heritage is represented in archives and collections related to the history of Soviet book graphics and satirical printing; individual works and graphic sheets are found in collections dedicated to the art of the 1920s and 1930s and the history of repressed artists.
