Russian, Soviet artist, painter, graphic artist, poster artist, caricaturist. In 1902 he entered the Stroganov Art and Industrial School in the class of N. Andreev and graduated in 1911. Participated in the creative associations “Jack of Diamonds”, “Free Art”, and the Society of Moscow Artists. He worked as an artist in the weekly illustrated magazine “Ramp and Life”. Since 1911, he participated in the design of performances at the S. Zimin Opera Theater. Since 1918 he taught at the State Free Art Workshops (VKHUTEIN). In 1919-1921 was one of the leading artists of ROSTA's Windows of Satire. In 1919-1932 - cartoonist in the satirical magazines “Crocodile”, “Behemoth”, “Atheist at the Machine”, “Splinter”, “Smekhach”.
