Mandel Semyon Solomonovich (1907, Vinnitsa - 1974, Leningrad) Artist, graphic artist. Theater and film artist. Graduate of the Kyiv Art Institute. Production designer, worked in various theaters, since 1931 - in cinema, designer of city festivals in stadiums, streets, parks. He created costumes and scenery for cinema, theater, music halls, musical programs, circus, stage and city festivals in Moscow, Leningrad and Kyiv. Designed about 300 performances, films, variety and circus programs. Worked with Arkady Raikin, Klavdiya Shulzhenko, Eddie Rosner and others. Mandel designed 39 films at different film studios across the country, including: “A Girl in a Hurry to a Date.” “The First Glove”, “Musical Story”, “Anton Ivanovich is Angry”, “Wedding”, “Tiger Tamer”, etc.
