Markus Anton

Markus Anton (1870, Arnhem – 1955, Oosterbeek).

Painter. In 1887 he entered the Academy of Arts in Amsterdam, where he studied with A. Allebe. Lived and worked in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and England. In 1891 he moved to live in Epe. He painted mainly landscapes, which contained features borrowed from the works of masters of the Barbizon school, which affected the high popularity of his art. The works of A. Marcus are represented in many museum collections in Western Europe.
