Studied at the Rostov Art School (1945-1949) with A.M. Chernykh and S.I. Zhovmira. At the Kiev Art Institute (1951-1957) with A.A. Shovkunenko, V.G. Puzyrkova, I.A. Reznik. Studied in Moscow at the School of Fine Arts. He taught at the Rostov Art School named after. M.B. Grekova (1957-1987). Since 1948, he has been constantly participating in Russian, all-Union, and international art exhibitions. He was awarded the title: Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR since 1960. Honored Artist of the RSFSR since 1967.
