Mazurovsky Viktor Vikentievich

Mazurovsky Viktor Vikentievich

Having received initial artistic training in the Warsaw drawing class (1876-1878), the young man continued his studies in St. Petersburg at the Academy of Arts, first as a free student, and then as a full-fledged academician (since 1879). At the Academy, V. Mazurovsky, in addition to two silver medals (in 1881), also received two gold medals: a small one for the training program “Attack of the Circassians by a cavalry patrol near the village of Bela in 1877” (1887) and a large gold medal for the diploma program “The Case of the Life Guards Hussar Regiment at Telish on October 3, 1877 of the year" (1888). Along with a large gold medal, the young battle painter receives the title of class artist of the first degree and a retirement trip abroad. Subsequent independent works, such as “Attack of a platoon of the Life Guards of the Grodno Regiment on Turkish Circassians near the village of Belaya in 1877” (1888), “The Case of Telish on October 3, 1877” (1889), V.V. Mazurovsky confirmed his creative choice.
