Melnikov Andrey Pavlovich (1852-1930).

Artist, ethnographer, historian of the Volga region. The son of the writer P.I. Melnikov-Pechersky. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting and Painting, then at the Academy of Arts. He graduated from it in 1883 with the title of non-class artist. He was one of the founders of the Nizhny Novgorod Society of Art Lovers. Author of numerous studies on the history of ethnography of the Volga region.
