Meshkov Vasily Nikitich (1867-1946).

Russian Soviet painter and graphic artist. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1943). Doctor of Art Sciences, Professor at the USSR Academy of Arts. Studied at MUZHVZ (1882-1889) with I.M. Pryanishnikova, V.D. Polenov, and in the Academy of Arts (1889-1890). Lived and worked in Moscow. He taught in his own studio (1892-1917), Moscow VKHUTEMAS (1922-1923), Academy of Arts (1937-1940). Member of the MTH and AHRR (since 1922). The author's works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery and in many museum collections.
