Mezhirov, Yuri Alexandrovich

Mezhirov Yuri Alexandrovich (1933, Leningrad – 2012, St. Petersburg)

Soviet and Russian painter. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. People's Artist of the Russian Federation. Member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists. From 1959 to 1965, he studied at the I.E. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in the workshop of V.M. Oreshnikov. From 1967 to 1971, he studied in the creative workshop under V.M. Oreshnikov. Awarded the Silver Medal of the Academy of Arts. Since 1965, he has participated in city, regional, and all-Union exhibitions. His first solo exhibition was held at the Leningrad Union of Artists in 1983. The author's works are represented in the collections of the State Russian Museum, the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg, the Central Museum of Railway Transport of the Russian Federation, and other museum and private collections in Russia and abroad.
