Michri Alexander Ilyich (1934 - 2021)

Soviet and Russian artist, art critic. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2004), Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts (2011). In 1961 he graduated from the Moscow Higher Art and Industrial School in the department of monumental and decorative plastic arts. Until 1966 he lived in Turkmenistan, worked in the Union of Artists and the Art Fund of Turkmenistan. Since 1970 he lived in Moscow. Worked in the Main Architectural and Planning Department of Moscow. As the main artist of the Perovsky district of Moscow, he participated in the design of the historical center of the capital. From 1974 to 1997 - employee of the Moscow Art Factory. The artist’s works are presented in the collections of the State Russian Museum, the Museum-Reserve of the Republic of Karelia, the State Museum of the Chechen Republic (Grozny), the Makhachkala Museum of Local Lore and other museums in Russia, the State Museum of Turkmenistan (Ashgabat), as well as in private collections abroad.
