Mironov Yuri Alexandrovich

Mironov Yuri Alexandrovich (born 1942)

Soviet and Russian abstract artist. Member of the Creative Union of Professional Artists. In 1968 – 1970s he studied at the Surikov drawing classes. In 1975 he graduated from the Moscow State Correspondence Pedagogical Institute. Since the 1970s, he has participated in republican and all-Union exhibitions. Since 1977 - member of the Moscow United Committee of Graphic Artists. In 1983 he joined the group of nonconformist artists “Twenty Moscow Artists”. In 1986–1987, he was chairman of the trade union committee of the Painting section of the City Committee of Graphic Artists. In 1988, he became one of the founders of the first private gallery in the Soviet Union, M'ARS (now the M'ARS Center for Contemporary Art), which was created as an association of artists with the aim of holding exhibitions, selling works and creating a museum of contemporary art. The author's works are presented in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery and other museums, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
