Mitrokhin Dmitry Isidorovich

Mitrokhin Dmitry Isidorovich (1883 – 1973).

Born in Yeisk on May 15 (27), 1883 in the family of a commercial employee. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1901–1903) with A.M. Vasnetsov and A.S. Stepanov, as well as at the Stroganov School of Art and Industry. In 1905–1906 he lived in Paris, where he visited the workshop of E.S. Kruglikova. He was a member of the World of Art association (since 1916). Lived in St. Petersburg/Leningrad (1908–1942), Alma-Ata (1942–1944) and Moscow (1906–1908 and since 1944). Served in the department of drawings and engravings of the Russian Museum (1916–1923). Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1969).
