Mochalsky Dmitry Konstantinovich

People's Artist of the RSFSR, full member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR named after. I. E. Repin 1967. Studied at the Moscow Regional Art Pedagogical School in memory of 1905. Then at the Academy of Arts in Leningrad (1929-1936). He taught at the Moscow State Art Institute. V.I. Surikov, since 1950 – professor. During the Great Patriotic War and the post-war years, he created a series of paintings dedicated to Soviet soldiers and partisans (“Victory. Berlin, 1945”, 1947), in 1949 - the painting “After the Demonstration” (both works in the State Tretyakov Gallery). Since 1954, he worked on a series of lyrical genre scenes dedicated to the work and life of Soviet youth on virgin lands (the cycles “Virgin Land People”, “Virgin Land People”). Works by D.K. Mochalsky are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and in many regional museums
