Famous French impressionist. He worked in oils, pastels, and gouache, creating beautiful paintings. In 1903, Montezin was accepted into the Salon of French Artists, and in 1906 he exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, England. Montezin received recognition during his lifetime, which is very rare for an artist of his era. He was awarded several medals and the Rosa Bonheur Prize. In 1923 he became a Knight of the Legion of Honor. In 1940, he was elected a member of the Academy of Fine Arts, on the recommendation of the famous J.E. Vuillard. In addition, he was a member of the jury of the Salon of French Artists. Montesin's paintings are highly valued today; they are kept and exhibited in the best museums in France and private collections.
