Soviet photographer. He graduated from the commune school of the People's Commissariat of Education No. 32 named after Lepeshinsky. In his early youth he became interested in photography, and during the Great Patriotic War he worked as a freelance photojournalist for the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper. After the war he continued to work in the Soviet press. His photographs were published in various periodicals, from factory newspapers to newspapers and magazines of national significance. A significant stage in the master’s creative biography was the conclusion of cooperation agreements with the Bolshoi Theater, the Maly Theater, the Vakhtangov Theater, and the Soyuzcircus. Having received recognition from his colleagues, Semyon Mikhailovich joined the Union of Journalists and the Union of Graphic Artists. One of the main topics was the capital of the USSR. The photographic chronicle of Moscow he compiled today is a unique object of cultural and historical significance.
