He studied at the Stroganov School, as well as in the 1900s. visited private Moscow studios of S.I. Ivanov and K.I. Korovina. Since 1904 he has been participating in exhibitions. Member of the Moscow Association of Artists (1904-10) and Proletkult. In 1918-1920 worked at Narkompros. The artist's works are in many museums and private collections.
