A sculptor who worked in the academic style. He received his initial artistic education in Dijon, under the guidance of his father, also a sculptor, and then studied with Cl. Ramey and A. A. Dumont, in Paris. Moreau is the author of many statues and monuments commissioned by government, a regular participant (since 1848) in exhibitions at the Paris Salon, and has repeatedly received high awards for his works, in particular, he was awarded the title of officer of the Legion of Honor. Works by M. Moreau are in museum collections in Caen, Dijon, Reims and in the Paris Museum of Decorative Arts. In the 1850-1860s, i.e. In the early period of his creativity, the sculptor created models for interior bronze, mainly female antique figures, which he was especially successful with, since the main theme of his work was precisely elegant female images with a mythological, allegorical or genre interpretation. Moro, who trained in Italy in his youth, was well aware of the classical sculptural heritage and fruitfully used its traditions in his works.
