Murer Augusto

Murer Augusto (1922-1985)

Italian sculptor of the 20th century. He received his initial training at the art school in Ortisei. The Venetian sculptor Arturo Martini had a significant influence on the artist’s worldview. Among the artist's first works are several anti-fascist monuments (in Venice and several small towns in Italy). In the post-war years, Belluno created his own art workshop in the area. In his work, the sculptor turned to both monumental and easel sculpture, and less often to sculpture of small forms. Favorite materials are bronze and wood.
