Corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts. People's Artist of the RSFSR. In 1942 he graduated from the Moscow State Art Institute. V.I. Surikov from the workshop of S.V. Gerasimova. In 1965 he was awarded the silver medal of the USSR Academy of Arts. Laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR in 1971. Author of paintings on historical and revolutionary themes, portraits of contemporaries, scenes from village life. The works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery and many Moscow and regional museums
