Painter and graphic artist. Full member of the USSR Academy of Arts. People's Artist of the USSR. In 1938 he graduated from the All-Russian Academy of Arts in Leningrad in the workshop of I.I. Brodsky, in 1941 – postgraduate studies in the workshop of R.R. Frentz and B.V. Ioganson. In the post-war years, he painted a number of paintings dedicated to the heroic struggle of the Soviet people against Nazi Germany: “The Last Grenade” (1948), “Lisa Chaikina” (1949), “Rest after the Battle” (1951). He worked extensively and fruitfully in the techniques of lithography and book graphics. The master's works are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery, as well as in many regional museums.
