Nesterov Alexey Nikolaevich (1883–1961)

Painter. Since 1927, an honorary member of the branch of the AHKhR (Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia) in Tambov. A.N. Nesterov was part of the creative group of the Tambov branch of the Union of Artists. He received his education in St. Petersburg, attending the school of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts. Having succumbed to the influence of such art masters as S. Yu. Zhukovsky, K. F. In 1941, an exhibition opened in Tambov, at which the artist showed the paintings “Installation of gouges on the streets of Tambov” and “Air Raid” with a view of a quiet city at night, above which slanting rays of searchlights intersect in the sky. The collection of the Tambov Regional Art Gallery contains a number of paintings and graphic works by the master.
