Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Boris Pavlovich Nikolaev was born on February 14, 1925 in Novosibirsk. Soon he and his parents moved to Leningrad. His passion for drawing brings Boris Nikolaev to the studio of the Leningrad House of Artistic Education for Children. After the start of the Great Patriotic War, he remained in Leningrad until the summer of 1942, when he was evacuated to the Altai Territory. In 1943-1945 in the Red Army. After demobilization and returning to Leningrad in 1948, he entered the Art and Pedagogical School, which he graduated in 1953. Thesis work is the painting “White Night on the Neva”. In 1953 he entered the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. E. Repin, from which he graduated in 1959 in the workshop of Joseph Serebryany. Thesis work is the painting “Evening Leningrad”. Since the early 1960s, he has participated in exhibitions, exhibiting his works along with works by leading masters of fine art in Leningrad. He painted genre paintings, portraits, landscapes, and still lifes. The Leningrad landscape paintings brought the artist the greatest fame. He was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. The works of Boris Pavlovich Nikolaev are in museums and private collections in Russia, Great Britain, France and other countries.
