Russian art group, the largest creative association of the early avant-garde, which existed from 1911 to 1917. The artists of the group (“Knave of Diamonds”) broke with the traditions of realistic painting and spoke from a formalist position against the ideological nature of art. Among its founders and most prominent artists are Pyotr Konchalovsky, Ilya Mashkov, Mikhail Larionov, Aristarkh Lentulov, Natalya Goncharova. Initially, this name was given to a scandalous exhibition that took place in Moscow in December 1910 - January 1911. Subsequently, its participants joined the creative association of the same name, which existed until December 1917. This artistic association marked in Russia “that pan-European revolution in art that was carried out five years earlier by the French Fauvists and German Expressionists of the Most group.” The artists of “Jack of Diamonds” rejected the traditions of both academicism and realism of the 19th century. Their work is characterized by pictorial and plastic solutions in the style of Cezanne (post-impressionism), Fauvism and Cubism.
