Oreshnikov Viktor Mikhailovich

Oreshnikov Viktor Mikhailovich (1904 – 1987).

Soviet painter, People's Artist of the USSR, full member of the USSR Academy of Arts. He studied in Leningrad at the Vkhutein (1924-1927; in graduate school at the Academy of Arts - 1933-36, with I. I. Brodsky). He taught at the Leningrad Academy of Arts - the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I. E. Repin (since 1930; since 1953 - rector). He worked a lot on historical and revolutionary themes, as well as in the field of portraits, landscapes, and still lifes. The artist’s paintings are kept in the Russian Museum and many other state museums.
