Monumental artist. Honored Artist of the RSFSR, professor. He studied at the Moscow Higher Art and Industrial School (formerly Stroganov School) at the department of monumental and decorative painting (1945–1953) under P.V. Kuznetsova, A.V. Kuprina, S.V. Gerasimova, V.F. Bordichenko, V.I. Kozlinsky. Since 1975 he taught at the Moscow Higher Art and Industrial School, and from the 2nd half of the 1980s he headed a workshop at the department of monumental and decorative painting. The author's works are in many regional museums and private collections.
