Ovchinnikov Nikolai Vasilievich (1918, Mizhuli village, Cheboksary district - 2004).

People's Artist of Russia and Chuvashia, professor, academician of the National Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Chuvash Republic (NANI CR). Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1944), candidate of art history (1955), professor (1973), academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Chuvash Republic (1994). He studied at the Alatyr Art and Graphic School (1934-37), graduated from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E.Repina Academy of Arts of the USSR (1951) in the workshop of prof. R.R. Frenz, postgraduate study at the USSR Academy of Arts (1954) in the creative workshop of the People's Artist of the USSR A.M. Gerasimov. The master's works are in many museums and private collections.
