Pasternak Leonid Osipovich (1862, Odessa - 1945, Oxford).

Academician since 1905. In 1879–1881. studied at the Odessa Drawing School, in 1881 he was awarded a silver medal. Studied in the private studio of E.S. Sorokin in Moscow (1881-1882) and at the Munich Academy of Arts (1882-1885, 1887). He taught in his own drawing studio in Moscow, at MUZHVZ - GSKHM - VKHUTEMAS (1894-1921). Founding member of the Union of Russian Artists (1903). Since 1921 he lived abroad. Since 1881, he was exhibited at the TPHV exhibition with the painting “Letter from Home,” acquired by P.M. Tretyakov. Participated in exhibitions of the associations “World of Art” and “Union of Russian Artists”. Illustrated the anniversary edition of M.Yu. Lermontov, novels by L.N. Tolstoy "War and Peace" and "Resurrection". He painted portraits. Pastel master. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, State Russian Museum.
