Landscape painter. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture with I.I. Shishkin and V.D. Polenova. He worked in the traditions of the late Itinerants. He developed a national, typical motif of Russian nature in landscapes. Founding member of the Union of Russian Artists. Participant of the exhibitions MOLKH (1884-1885, 1887-1889, 1890-1900, 1908), TPHV (1893-1901), MTH (1893, 1895, 1899), etc. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, as well as in private collections.
