Landscape painter. In 1878-1887 studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts. He was awarded three small and two large silver medals. Received the title of non-class artist of the 3rd degree. In 1888, for the paintings presented at the academic exhibition ("Hornbeam Forest", "In the Park", "At the Cottage", "Summer Day", etc.), he was promoted to artist of the 2nd degree. He has participated in exhibitions of the Society of Russian Watercolorists since its inception. Permanent exhibitor of TPHV. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery and other museum collections.
