Плотнов А.И.

Plotnov Andrey Ivanovich (born 1916, Lipetsk region - 1997, Moscow).

Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1970). Member of the Moscow Union of Artists (1943). In 1933-1936. studied at the Moscow Regional Pedagogical Art School in Memory of 1905. In 1936, on the recommendation of I.E. Grabar was admitted to the painting department of the Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov. In 1942 he was evacuated to Samarkand and graduated from the institute that same year. In 1943 he was sent to the front and accepted into the art studio of the NKVD of the USSR, under the leadership of P.P. Sokolov-Skalya. In 1948-1955, 1974-1981. made creative trips to Central Asia and Kazakhstan. Created a series of works at the Lipetsk Metallurgical Plant (1978-1980). In 1984 he was awarded the anniversary medal named after. Yu.A. Gagarin. In 1968 he founded the Dankov art gallery "Malaya Tretyakov Gallery" (Lipetsk region). Paintings by Plotnov A.I. are in many regional museums and private collections.
