Pokidchenko Evgeniy Yakovlevich

Painter. Studied at the Rostov Art School (1953-1958) with A.M. Chernykh, in the Leningrad IZHSA named after. Repin Academy of Arts of the USSR (1960-1966) by A.D. Zaitsev, All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1944-1950) at the art department. He taught at the Russian Art University named after. M.B. Grekova (1966-1975, 1987-1998), at the KhGF RGPI. Since 1957, he has been constantly participating in zonal, republican, all-Union, and foreign art exhibitions. Member of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR in 1972. Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR in 1996. Founder and leader of the creative group “In the Motherland of Sholokhov”. Participant of international plein airs in Germany and Poland (1983-1985). Awarded a diploma for his contribution to the development of fine arts in Russia in 2006. Works by E.Ya. Pokidchenko's works are presented in the Rostov Regional Museum of Fine Arts, in private collections in Russia, Great Britain, the USA and in many other museums around the world, in particular at the Georges Pompidou National Center for the Arts.
