Ponyatov Mikhail Osipovich

Soviet painter, member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. In 1934 he was enrolled in the first year of the painting department of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the All-Russian Academy of Arts. Studied with V.N. Meshkov, R.R. Frenz. Since 1952, he began to participate in exhibitions, exhibiting his works along with works of leading masters of fine art in Leningrad. He painted mainly landscapes and sketches from nature, as well as genre paintings. In 1953 he was accepted as a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. Since July 1953 he worked in the creative group of the Painting and Design Art Plant of the Leningrad branch of the Art Fund of the RSFSR. His works are in museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.
