Poret Alisa Ivanovna

Painter, graphic artist, book artist. In 1917–1919 she studied at the Drawing School at the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts. In 1920 she entered the KhPT in Petrograd, in 1921 without exams she transferred to the State Free Art Training Workshops under K. S. Petrov-Vodkin. In the same year, she joined P. N. Filonov’s association “Workshop of Analytical Art” (MAI), built, among other things, on the principles of collective creativity. Poret also became famous for her graphic works. She collaborated with the magazines “Ezh” and “Chizh”. In 1936 she illustrated the book “Batrachomyomachy. The War of Mice and Frogs", in 1937 - "Cata Murra" by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann (not published). In later years, she designed the fairy tale “Winnie the Pooh and the rest” in the retelling of Boris Zakhoder by A. Milne (1960) and the children’s book by Kharms for the publishing house “Malysh” (shortly before her death). In 1992, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Poret’s birth, an exhibition of the artist’s works was held at the Museum of Fine Arts in Petrozavodsk, and a series of four postcards with a circulation of 500 copies was released for the centenary. Two of them reproduce watercolors by Poret - “A Sailor’s Tale” (1926) and “The Glebov Family” (1926), and the other two - her photographs. Poret's works are in the State Russian Museum, in the Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Petrozavodsk), in other museums in Russia, as well as in private collections.
