Born in Petrograd. In 1955 he graduated from the V. I. Mukhina Leningrad Art and Art Pedagogical University, workshop of Alexander Kazantsev. He studied with Ivan Stepashkin, Gleb Savinov, Pyotr Buchkin. Participant of exhibitions since 1955. Member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1985. He painted landscapes, still lifes, genre and thematic compositions.
