In 1940 he graduated from Moscow State Art Institute named after. V.I. Surikov, where he studied with S.V. Gerasimova. Since 1938, he exhibited at republican, all-Union, and Moscow exhibitions. He worked in Grekov's studio (1943-1969. In 1949, Pravdin's works were presented at the All-Union Art Exhibition in Moscow. During the Great Patriotic War, the artist actively participated in military operations and made a large number of sketches on a military theme. Pravdin was in Samarkand with S.V. Gerasimov, where famous landscapes and thematic canvases were created: “Old Mosque” (1943), “Oriental Bazaar” (1942), “Soldiers” (1943). Pravdin’s works are kept in museums of the former USSR and private collections.
