Puni Ivan Albertovich

Puni Ivan Albertovich (1894, Kuokkala village, Vyborg province - 1956, Paris).

Painter, graphic artist; theater artist, book illustrator, author of articles on art. Grandson of the Italian composer C. Pugni. In the 1910s took private lessons from I.E. Repina. In 1910-1912 studied at the Academy of R. Julien in Paris. Participant of the Youth Union and Jack of Diamonds exhibitions, he was the main organizer of the landmark futurist exhibitions Tram B (1915) and O, 10 (1915–1916). In 1919 he emigrated to Finland, and since 1923 he lived and worked in Paris. Personal exhibitions were held in the Der Sturm gallery in Berlin (1920-1922), as well as in galleries in Paris, New York, London, Vienna, Tokyo, Rome. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and are presented in many museums in Europe and the USA.
