Rabin Alexander Oskarovich

Rabin Alexander Oskarovich (born 1951, Lianozovo).

Son of Oscar Rabin and Valentina Kropivnitskaya. Nonconformist artist. One of the organizers of the open air exhibition on September 15, 1974 in Moscow, after which he was arrested. Participated in the following exhibitions: First outdoor exhibition (1974, Moscow); Second outdoor exhibition (1974, Moscow); Exhibition of Moscow nonconformist artists (1975, Moscow, VDNKh, economic pavilion). Since 1978, he has lived and worked in France. Exhibited at the following exhibitions: Kunstamt Charlottenburg “Nonkonformistische russische Maler, Sammlung Alexander Gleser” (1975, German Democratic Republic, West Berlin), Montgeron, exhibition of the Russian Museum in Exile (Exposition au Musée Russe en Exil-1976, France), Parkway Focus Gallery, exhibition “Religious movements in the USSR” (1976, Great Britain, London), “Nonkonformistsische russische Maler, Sammlung Alexander Gleser” (1976, German Democratic Republic, Essligen, Kunstverein). The artist’s works are in the P. Ludwig Museum in Cologne, in the collection of Nancy and Norton Dodge.
