For the first time, the most serious question about the need to promote films was raised by the Cinematography Committee back during the war years (1941-45), since it required the full popularization of patriotic films and the promotion of the ideas contained in them to the broad masses. For this purpose, in August 1942, a special organization was created within the structure of Glavkinoprokat - the Bureau of Information and Propaganda of Films, which, by order of the Film Committee of October 15, 1943, was reorganized into the office for advertising films "Reklamfilm". Soon after the end of the war in 1945, the small team of film poster artists was replenished by artists Y. Ruklevsky, N. Khomov, B. Zelensky, I. Gerasimovich and others who returned from the army and from evacuation. For more than three years, typolitography was the only Moscow institution publishing film posters. In 1949, the printing press "Reklamfilm" was merged with a factory producing film and photographic materials. This is how the Reklamfilm factory was formed. Over the entire period of its existence from 1945, in fact until 1995, and legally exists to this day, "Reklamfilm" has published more than 20,000 film posters. In addition, brochures, leaflets, booklets and much more.
