Repin Yuri Ilyich

Painter, master of large historical and battle paintings, portrait painter. Son of I.E. Repina. He studied at the Tenishev Studio (1894-1899), and from 1899 at the Academy of Arts in the workshop of his father, I.E. Repin, then from 1903 - in the workshop of D.N. Kardovsky. Since 1900, a permanent participant in exhibitions of the Academy of Arts, the Union of Russian Artists (1908-1911,1913), the Association of Independent Artists (1911,1913), the TPHV (1914-1918), the International Exhibition in Munich (1910), etc. Since 1915, a member of the TPHV. Developed his father's creative heritage. He painted paintings based on gospel subjects. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and in the house-museum of I.E. Repin, National Gallery in Prague, in Russian and foreign private collections.
