He studied at the Moscow Art College (1934–36), then at the Moscow Art Institute (1937–42). Student of S. Gerasimov and A. Osmerkin. In 1941–45 he was part of the TASS Windows poster brigade. He became famous for his landscapes. In 1962–78 he taught painting and drawing at the House of Education Workers in Moscow. Since 1953 he has been a regular participant in art exhibitions. In 1956, his joint exhibition with L. Tikhomirov took place in Moscow. Posthumous personal exhibitions were held in Moscow in 1981, 1984, 1987 and 1993. The artist’s works are in the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Bryansk Art Museum, the Penza Art Gallery, the Plyos Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve named after. Levitan, Ostrogorsk Museum of Local Lore.
