Rizzoni Alexander Antonovich

Rizzoni Alexander Antonovich (1836 – 1902, Rome).

Academician, professor of Academy of Arts. In 1852 he entered the Imperial Academy of Arts and studied with Professor B.P. Villevalde. He was awarded a large silver medal for the painting “Italian Organ Grinder in a Tavern” and a large gold medal for the painting “Auction in the Livonian Village”. As a pensioner of the academy he worked in Paris and Rome. His works were acquired for his collection by the famous Moscow collector K.S. Soldatenkov. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and other museum collections.
