Winner of the "Master" Prize in 2004 and the Special Prize of journalists and art critics, nominee for the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of painting (2004). Nonconformist artist. Author of paintings and objects close to the pop art direction. Studied at the Moscow City Art School under M.S. Perutsky (1946-1950), at the Moscow Regional Pedagogical Art School in Memory of 1905, specializing in theater artist (1950-1951). He worked as a theater artist in Severodvinsk, Lysva, Pskov and Zlatoust. He taught at the Correspondence People's University of Arts. N.K. Krupskaya. Participant of exhibitions since 1962. In 1978 he emigrated to France. The artist’s personal exhibitions were held in Vologda (2003), Yaroslavl and Kostroma (2003), at the State Russian Museum (2004), as well as in galleries in France, Germany, the USA, Israel, and Russia. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Center for Contemporary Art in Moscow, the State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSIZO, the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum (New Jersey, USA), and in many private collections in Russia and abroad.
