He graduated from the art and graphic faculty of Moscow State Pedagogical Institute in 1966. Member of the Union of Artists since 1978. Member of the USSR Art Fund since 1979. Repeated participant in Moscow, all-Union and international exhibitions. In 1986-1987 Personal exhibitions were held in Novgorod and the Novgorod region. The works are in the Book Museum of the Russian State Library, in private collections in Russia and Europe. In 2009, a personal exhibition of N.M. took place. Rotanov in the State Tretyakov Gallery, where the artist’s pictorial and graphic heritage was presented.
