Rozhkov Nikolai Petrovich (born 1937)

Soviet artist, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. In 1961 he graduated from the Cheboksary Art School. Since 1965, he has been a regular participant in republican and regional exhibitions. Since 1976 - member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. In 1988 he received the title of Honored Artist of the Mordovian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, and in 1998, for a series of landscapes about his native land, he was the first of the modern Mordovian artists to be awarded the title of “Laureate of the State Prize of Mordovia.” The artist’s works are kept in the Chuvash Art Museum, the Chita Art Museum, the Mordovian Republican Museum of Fine Arts named after S. D. Erzya, the Mordovian Republican United Museum of Local Lore, and private Russian and foreign collections.
