He studied at the Lipetsk State Free Art Workshops in 1919–1922. at N. Korolev, then at the Higher Art and Technical Workshops (Vkhutemas), and subsequently at the Higher Art and Technical Institute (Vkhutein) in Moscow in 1922–1929. from S.V. Gerasimov, A.A. Osmerkin, I.I. Mashkov. Participant in exhibitions of the societies “Being” (1926), “Wing” (1927), and the Society of Moscow Artists (OMH, 1928). He taught at the Moscow Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (1946–1952), the Higher Art and Industrial School named after V.I. Mukhina in Leningrad (1952–1975).
