Rukhin Evgeniy Lvovich (1943, Saratov - 1976, Leningrad).

A representative of Soviet unofficial art (nonconformist). He studied at the Geological Exploration Faculty of Leningrad University (1961-1966), in 1964-1965 he was a volunteer at the Leningrad Higher School of Art and Industry named after V. Mukhina; he did not receive a systematic art education. He participated in exhibitions since 1966: his first solo exhibition in one of the Leningrad cinemas (1966), the exhibition "10 Leningrad Artists" (1969), the exhibition "50 Leningrad Artists" (1974), the "Bulldozer Exhibition" and the exhibition in the Izmailovo Forest Park (Moscow, 1974). He has exhibited abroad: in New York (Betty Parsons Gallery, 1967), Lugano (Museum of Fine Arts, 1970), Caracas (Venezuela), Aarhus (Denmark), Vienna (Austria), Stuttgart (Germany). After his death, dozens of posthumous exhibitions took place in Europe, the USA, Japan, Israel and Russia (including a solo exhibition in St. Petersburg‑St. Petersburg, 1996). The works are represented in the Zimmerli Museum of Rutgers University (Norton Dodge Collection, USA), the Moscow Museum of Other Art, the ART4 Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the New Museum (St. Petersburg‑St. Petersburg), as well as in many private collections in Russia and abroad.
