Russian Jewish painter, graphic artist and decorator. In 1911 - 1912 he studied at the Kiev Art School and Studio of A. Murashko, from where the famous painters and sculptors Nisson Shifrin (1892 - 1961), Baruch Aronson (1898 - 1980), Alexander Tyshler (1898 - 1980), Solomon Nikritin (1898 - 1965), Mark Epstein (1899 – 1949), Baruch Goldfein. Rybak’s teachers were cubo-futurists A.A. Exter and A.K. Bogomazov. In 1911-1912 he studied in Kyiv, at the Kiev Art School and the studio of A. A. Murashko. His teachers were the cubo-futurists A. A. Exter and Bogomazov. Member of the Culture League. Author of graphic works “Jewish types of Ukraine”, “Pogrom”, “Small Town”. Created the album “Jews in the Fields of Ukraine.” Illustrated children's books in Yiddish. In particular, he designed the children's books by L. Kvitko “Birds” (1922), “In the Forest” (1922), “The Ring in the Ring,” “For This They Expel You,” “Karl and Mizra” and his collection of poems for adults in Yiddish (1919), as well as the book by teacher Boris Smolin “Children’s World” (1922) and three books by children’s writer Miriam Margolin “Fairy Tales for Little Children.” Worked at the Jewish Theater in Moscow. Then he was in exile. In 1921-1924 he lived in Berlin, from the mid-1920s he lived in France, where he continued to work on illustrating children's books. He made several models of Jewish types for the Sevres manufactory. During the Parisian period he switched to realism. Participated in the famous Parisian salons: Autumn (1927, 1930, 1932–1934), Tuileries (1929, 1930, 1932), Independent (1929–1935). He held personal exhibitions in the Parisian galleries Quatre Chemins (1928, watercolors and drawings), d’Art Contemporain (1928, painting), Colbert (1930), Atelier-du-Cotentin (1933), Billiet (1933), as well as in London and Cambridge (1935). In 1935, the works were exhibited at a retrospective exhibition of Russian art in Prague. Refers to the artists of the School of Paris. The artist’s works are in various museums around the world, including the British Museum (London) and the I. B. Fisherman Museum in Bat Yam (Israel).
