Savchenkova Maria Vladimirovna (1917, Novocherkassk, Don Host Region — 2017, Moscow)

Soviet and Russian artist-painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1946). Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1970). People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2002). In 1936-1937 she studied at the Art Studio under the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions, her teachers at the studio were M.S. Rodionov and K.F. Yuon. In 1945 she graduated from the Moscow Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov, where she studied with V.V. Pochitalov, D.K. Mochalsky and G.M. Shegal. Since 1947 - a regular participant in Moscow, republican and all-Union art exhibitions. The author's works are presented in the collection of the Salsk Museum named after V.K. Nechitailo, in many regional museums and private collections in Russia.
