Landscape artist. Free student of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1834-1840). Pensioner of the Society for the Encouragement of Artists. In 1839 he received a second silver medal, in 1840 - the title of non-class artist. From 1844 to 1860s lived in Kyiv. In 1846 he created together with T.G. Shevchenko album “Views of Kyiv”. In 1855 he received the title of academician. The artist’s works are in the State Russian Museum, the Tver Regional Art Gallery, many regional museums, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
