Sirenko Sergey Anatolievich

Graduated from Moscow State Academy of Arts named after V.I. Surikov. Studied with A.I. Fomkin, E.N. Maksimov, V.N. Zabelin, K.A. Tutevol. The artist works extensively and fruitfully in various forms of easel and monumental painting. From 1994 to 1996, he was the artistic director of a group of Moscow painters to create a gallery of historical portraits of the Prosecutor Generals of Russia for the 275th anniversary of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia. Author of portraits of many outstanding figures of Russian history, for which he was awarded the Silver Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. In 1997 – 1998, he participated in the creation of a gallery of portraits of the leaders of the Federal Border Service of Russia for the Hall of Border Fame of the Central Museum of the Federal Border Guard Service. In 1998 – 2000, he completed a number of historical portraits for the Russian Ministry of Justice, the Russian Cultural Foundation, and the Rosvoentsentr under the Government of the Russian Federation. As part of the creative team, he participated in the painting of the main dome and the Hall of Church Cathedrals of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, for which he was awarded a letter of gratitude from the Patriarch of All Rus' Alexy II and a medal of the Russian Academy of Arts “For the reconstruction of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.” From October 2004 to December 2006, he led a creative team to recreate the picturesque decoration of the Church of Sophia the Wisdom of God - the Patriarchal Metochion, on Lubyanka in Moscow. For his work in painting the temple, he was awarded the Order of the Russian Orthodox Church “St. Sergius of Radonezh, III degree.” Participant of more than eighty Moscow, Russian and foreign art exhibitions. The artist’s works are in the collection of the Union of Artists of Russia, in museums in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, China, private collections in Japan, Germany, France, Spain, the USA, and are published in professional magazines, catalogs and albums. In September 2008 he was awarded the title “Winner of the Moscow City Prize”.
